The production of artificial snow starts when the weather reports indicate a long and stable period of low temperatures, both day and night. If there is a risk of the snow melting again within shortly, the production will not commence, as this is a very expensive and intricate process.

However, at Hovden we are fortunate enough to receive ample amounts of natural snow, with a cross-country season normally lasting from November to May. And November 2024 has given us a supply of fresh snow from above — accompanied by the required sub-zero temperatures!
