Hartevassnuten – round trip 4 or 7 km
A taste of the high mountains - also accessible for children. With central Hovden as a starting point, the 1068-metre Hartevassnuten is reached within one hour.
From here, there are magnificent views of Hovden and the surrounding mountains. This is a great family hike, suitable for children aged 5 and upwards.
There are some steep sections and rock-covered slopes along the path, which takes you from birch forest to above the tree line. In some places it gets slippery during rain, so we recommend solid footwear.
The first part of the trail goes though a cabin area. To reach the summit, you have to negotiate some steep sections. On your way, you get to see Hovden from above. From the summit, there are magnificent views of Hovden and the surrounding mountains.
You may choose to return the same way, or continue on the path, making it a round trip. Follow the blue markings and the descent will take you through some rock-covered slopes and bogs further down, before it encounters the road in the cabin area.
This 7-kilometre hike takes approximately 2 ½ hours.
