Gapahuk on Otroåsen

Gapahuk with fire pit available for free use

At Hovden, there are two gapahuks, respectively at the top of Otrosåsen and at Juvet. Here you can seek shelter from the weather, eat your packed lunch, enjoy brought coffee at sunset, or light the fire pit for grilling.

To ensure everyone has a pleasant stay in the gapahuk, it is important to remember the following:

Bring your own firewood or charcoal. The nearby trees do not look nice if branches are broken off to be used as firewood. Besides, fresh branches do not burn well.
Plastic, metal, or glass should not be placed or burned in the fire pit. This and all other trash must be taken home with you.
The gapahuk is free to use, and there should be room for everyone. It is nice if you welcome other guests.
When you leave the gapahuk, the fire should be extinguished, and both inside and outside the gapahuk should be tidy and clean before the next guest arrives.
Both gapahuks are located at a suitable distance from the road, so small children can also join. It is also nice to go there with a stroller in the summer and with a sled in the winter. The hike to Otrosåsen has steep hills both up and down and can be challenging on skis for the youngest children.

Hovden Løypekøyring has placed the gapahuks and is responsible for them. Welcome!
