Otrosåsen
Otrosåsen is a great area for cycling, jogging, and hiking. You can also bring a stroller on the trip.
Otrosåsen is one of the peaks located near Hovden center, at 858 meters above sea level. From here, you have views over Hovden and Setesdal Aust- and Vesthei.
This is a great family trip if you have small children. The trail mostly follows a flat gravel road to Røyrtjønn, and then there is an ascent to the top of Otrosåsen. You can also take this trip with a stroller. There are two steep hills along the way, so a stroller with brakes is recommended.
At the top, there is a cairn with a guestbook in the mailbox. Feel free to write a greeting in the book.
In the area called Røyrvikåsen, there is an asphalt roller ski track. If you plan to walk there, we recommend walking counterclockwise and staying on the right side of the road. Roller skiers can come at high speeds and have limited braking options.
