Bike trip - Kristiansand - Haukeligrend

National cycle route 3 runs from Kristiansand to Haukeligrend. This route mostly follows small roads and trails. However, some sections follow RV9. Parts of the route are suitable for day trips, especially in Evje and Bygland, where the route mostly avoids the main road.

In Evje, the route follows large parts of the Setesdalsbanen, an old railway line that was discontinued in 1962. You pass through idyllic natural and cultural areas, various attractions, and many nice picnic spots. Pay special attention to the venerable stone arch bridge that showcases construction techniques from earlier times. A good starting point can be Evje center, then follow the route either north or south. The route is relatively flat, without significant elevation. Most of the stretch is traffic-safe and therefore well-suited for families with children.
