Hegni

Hegni

Hegni is a pleasant and family-friendly outdoor area, perfect for everyone who wants to enjoy the summer in beautiful surroundings. There is a small, cozy beach, a playground for the youngest children and great hiking opportunities in scenic surroundings. The area also features the Museum of Iron Production and the Viking Trail – just perfect for those who want to learn more about the Viking Age.

If you enjoy fishing, there are great opportunities in Hartevatn. Fishing permits can be purchased here

This summer (2025), the kiosk will be open every day from June 19 to August 8, between 12:00 PM and 6:00 PM. This year, local youth will be running the kiosk. You can buy ice cream, sausages, soft drinks, and coffee – just what you need on a sunny day.

Hegni also offers boat rentals for those who want to get out on the water, and a small motorhome camp with space for seven vehicles. Whether you want to swim, play, fish, or just relax, Hegni is the place to be.

Note: The kiosk may be closed on days with bad weather.
