Kulturpatrulja – Traditional Setesdal Culture in Pizzabakeren

Experience traditional music and dance from Setesdal, performed by talented local young people. Kulturpatrulja brings UNESCO-listed folk music and folk dance to cafés, hotels, campsites and museums around Setesdal this summer.

Description

Would you like to experience real Norwegian culture? Meet Kulturpatrulja – a lively summer tour presenting traditional folk music and folk dance from Setesdal. The music and dance traditions from Setesdal are so unique that they are listed by UNESCO as intangible cultural heritage. This means they are an important living tradition, passed on from one generation to the next. From 13 to 24 July, a group of talented local young people will travel around Setesdal with their instruments. They will perform at local cafés, hotels, campsites and open-air museums, sharing energetic and easy-to-enjoy performances with visitors and locals. All concerts are free, and you can simply show up. The only exception is the concert on the steamship Bjoren at Byglandsfjord.
