In Hovden you have several parking options: in the village, near the cross-country ski trails, and at the ski resort. In central Hovden there is also an underground parking garage that keeps you car dry and warm.
Parking in central Hovden
Outdoor parking behind Fjellgardstun
Behind the commercial building Fjellgardstun, there is a large parking area with charging stations. Normally, the capacity is excellent, but during the peak seasons there might be som waiting time. Searchable map of charging stations in Norway available here: https://bit.ly/3YLzf6p
Parking garage Hovdetun
Under the commercial building Hovdetun and the KIWI supermarket, there is a parking garage. From here, there is an exit outside KIWI, and direct access to the shops in Hovdetun. Free parking for one hour. Additional parking costs NOK 10 per hour and NOK 90 per day.
Parking for the cross-country trails east of Hovden
Day parking south
1 km north of central Hovden, there is a large day parking area. This is located near the traffic roundabout, at the start of the Hartevassvegen road. This is a great starting point for the trail network in Hovden. Parking here is free of charge.
Day parking north
Opposite Hovden Fjellstoge, there is a large parking area. From here, you have access to the trails Lundane, Galten, Lislefjødd and Auversvatn. Parking here is free of charge.
Hovden cross-country arena
At the Hovden cross-country arena, there is a large and open parking area. This is located close to the trails, and parking here is normally free of charge (except during large events).
Parking at Hovden Alpinsenter
At Hovden Alpinsenter, there is a large parking area. This is available during the opening hours of the alpine center and as long as the dining establishments there are open. Outside the ski season, it is also available. Parking is subject to a fee.
